At school I used to hang out with one of his nephews (sadly no longer with us) his mum had quite a few WHO silver discs on her living room wall (I suppose the band members kept the gold and platinum ones).
A great band that I started listening to at about eight years old.

He'd probably be in line for a bigger honour given his TCT charity work but for the fact he sings another's songs in the "day job". And Townshend can't be honoured after his credit card "research". It is thus "awkward". Would be like honouring Liam Gallagher and not Noel. (And, yes, I know that notion is ludicrous purely on artistic grounds.)

Yep. The GREAT Norman Watt-Roy indeed. Just fished out the Cd and was surprised to see it is now 4 years old - so Rog was 70.
